What to wear with this dress??

I just bought the cutest black dress, it is a stiffer cotton material so it has some shape to it, with short sleeves and a zipper the entire way up the dress. It goes to just above my knee. What kind and color of leggings should I wear with it? And boots or shoes? I tried on black tights with it but they had a pattern on them and it looked kindof funny. And would I be able to layer a long-sleeve shirt under the top, since it is winter here? The dress has a collared neck.

Any colour goes with black, but probably safest would be black leggings and knee high black boots.





Have a simple round neck or turtle next under it if you want in a bright colour to add a special splash.





Don't put a shirt with a collar, two collars are too busy together.





Don't forget to wear a smile with it and you will look a million dollars!!
Reply:If you are younger, maybe get some tights with a cool pattern, maybe like darker blue, green, %26amp; purple stripes or burgundy and cream. It'll add a bit of color. I would go with the knee legnth black boots too, but something feminine, not anything with a clunky heel.
Reply:Well it is hard to say without seeing the dress but it sounds like you may be able to put a long sleeve shirt underneath it. WHite probably and I wouldn't wear leggings I would find soe knee length boots... I don't know what kind though. The wintery boots with the faux fur might look cute or just some black ones.
Reply:Wait until spring. It's a "little black dress" leggings, boots, and a long sleeve shirt? why did you buy the dress if you don't want it seen.
Reply:Cotton is not a winter material especially if it has short sleeves. You should wear it in summer time with sandals or if you must wear it now wear it with long leggings and flats.
Reply:I think you should wear a dark-peachie to bronze leggings. Wear black boots and you can probably top it off with a round neck sweater
