Boots smell funny after shoe repair?

This is a weird question. I brought a pair of brand new boots to a shoe repair place (to taper the tops), I brought them home and realized there is a strong odor on them -- almost fishy. I had taken a pair of boots to the same place before and this didn%26#039;t happen. Is this just an odor from any chemicals and/or metal working (zipper) that may have happened? I%26#039;m so confused -- and I can%26#039;t wear them until the smell wears off... what do you guys think?

Could be whatever glue or chemicals they uses. Give it a day or two to air out.. If it dosen%26#039;t go away then bring it back to them.
Reply:I think you must be really sexy and the shoe repair guy had sex with your shoes.....Hahahahahahah!!!!!!!!
Reply:Probably the odor from chemicals he used. You can look inside the boot for foot marks and you can look on the sole for evidence that they have been worn. If you see no evidence, I would think it is the chemicals.
Reply:OIL
