Is there a way to stretch out knee high leather boots?

My cousin let me borrow a pair of knee high leather boots for Halloween and because I loved them so much, she let me keep them. The shoe itself fits perfect, but it is a little tight on my calves. I tried wearing them around for a day and slowly pulling up the zipper as they slowly stretched. I managed to do one of them all the way up, but it was REALLY tight. The other one I never managed to zip. The next day, I could no longer do up the boot that I had zipped and had to start the process all over again. Without having them altered, is there any way of stretching them out?

use newspapers crumpled and keep stuffing inside them
Reply:hi, i haven%26#039;t tried this out personally but my sister had a similar problem with her leather boots, she wet them then stuffed them with scrunched up newspapers till they were compact then let them dry.. she said this done the trick for her.... hope this helps :)
Reply:Take them to your local cobbler. They will be able to stretch them out for you.
Reply:Let them sit out in the sun and stuff them with newspapers, go out every few hours and stuff more newspaper in them. If it is not sunny where you live then you can try blowing the hair dryer on them to make them hot. Heat will make them more elasticy and will also make them expand so you can stuff them with more newspaper
Reply:Your best bet,if you don%26#039;t want to chance ruining them, is to go to a leather shop and have them altered.

The isn%26#039;t any realistic way to stretch leather shoes.
